What hair salons need
Three things every stylist runs into.
Late-night DMs, missed bookings
Clients DM you at 11pm asking for a slot. By the time you reply at 9am, they've gone elsewhere. With Avana, your booking link is open 24/7 · they book themselves on your own page, you see the booking when you open the calendar in the morning.
Cut, colour and balayage need different time slots
A men's cut is 30 min, a root touch-up is 90 minutes, a full balayage is 3 hours. Avana sets the right duration per service automatically. Clients only see slots that fit the chosen service. No overruns, no double bookings.
Re-booking lapses cost retention
Avana sends an automatic re-booking reminder 6 weeks after the last cut, with a direct link to book again. Returning clients without picking up the phone · typical +20-30% rebooking rate.
Hair salon software that protects every chair-hour.
Built around the way hair salons actually run: stylist-led bookings, varied service durations, deposit-protected colour appointments, and rebooking reminders that bring clients back automatically.
Per-stylist calendars, no per-staff fee on the base
Each stylist has their own calendar with their own services. Up to 3 stylists included on Pro at £39/month, each extra stylist +£4.95/month.
Service-specific durations and buffers
Cut 30 min, colour 90 min, balayage 3 hours. Set duration and clean-up buffer per service. Clients only see slots that fit.
Deposits on colour, balayage and chemical services
Long colour appointments are the most painful no-shows. Set a 30-50% deposit per service · clients prepay, you keep the deposit on no-show.
Booking link that lives in your Instagram bio
One short link in your bio, your Google Business profile and your QR code. Clients book directly from the bio, no app, no account.
Client cards with formula and product history
Note last colour formula, product preferences, allergies. Returning clients get the same colour to the gram, every time.
Rebooking reminders 6 weeks after the cut
Automatic reminder to rebook 6 weeks after the last visit, with a direct booking link (Team plan). Typical +20-30% rebooking rate.
Sell wax, gel and shampoo through your booking page.
Clients are already booking a cut on your page · let them add the styling products you actually use in the salon. No separate web shop, no extra logistics.
0% commission on your products

Shampoo & conditioner
Salon-quality for home use. Repeat purchases without clients having to come back in.
Hair and scalp oil
For dry or damaged hair · perfect to recommend after a colour service.

Bought as gifts for partners and friends · extra revenue without costing you any chair time.
Products live in the same Avana account as your calendar. Clients see them at the checkout of their appointment.
These are examples. Sell whatever you want: from your own merchandise to gift cards, subscriptions or treatment packages. You build the catalogue.
Some salon platforms take a 20% marketplace commission on every new client they send you, or charge a per-staff fee on top of the subscription. Avana doesn't. 0% commission on bookings, up to 3 stylists included on Pro, and 100% of your service revenue stays with the salon. A small booking fee applies when clients book online · the same way any ticketing or reservation platform works. Card payments run at Stripe's standard rate of 1.5% + £0.20 · Avana adds nothing on top. Plans from £12 per month.
Solo
Solo stylists who want bookings, reminders and client records without the admin.
Card payments run at Stripe's standard rate of 1.5% + £0.20 per transaction. On a £55 payment you receive £53.97. Avana adds nothing on top.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Avana for hair salons.
Can clients choose their stylist?
Yes. You set up individual calendars for each team member with the services they offer. Clients see all available stylists and their next open slots, and can pick their preferred person · or take the first available. Up to 3 stylists are included on Pro at £39/mo, each extra stylist is +£4.95/month.
How does Avana handle different service durations?
Per service you set the duration (cut 30 min, colour 90 min, balayage 3 hours). Avana automatically blocks the right amount of time and only shows clients slots that fit their chosen service. You can also set buffer time after long services for cleanup.
What happens if a client cancels late?
You set a cancellation policy with a minimum notice period. Clients who cancel inside that window can be charged a fee · for deposit-based bookings, the deposit stays with you on no-show.
Do I need to be tech-savvy to set this up?
No. Setup takes around 15 minutes. You add your services, set your opening hours and share your booking link. If you can fill in an Instagram bio, you can set up Avana.
Can I send re-booking reminders?
Yes, on the Team plan (£69/mo). Set automatic reminders e.g. 6 weeks after the last visit, with a direct link to book again. Hair salons typically see +20-30% rebooking rate from this alone.
Does Avana work in the UK, Ireland and Australia?
Yes. Avana works in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and across the EU. Card payments work in your local currency through Stripe.
What is Stripe and why does Avana use it?
Stripe is a global payment processor used by Shopify, Amazon, Lyft and millions of businesses to take card payments. Avana plugs into Stripe so your clients can pay by card on your booking page · money lands in your bank account directly from Stripe, not via Avana. We pass Stripe's rate through 1:1 with 0% added.
What do I pay per transaction?
Card payments run at Stripe's standard processing rate: 1.5% + £0.20 in the UK. Avana adds nothing on top. On a £55 payment you receive £53.97. You can see the exact breakdown for every transaction in your dashboard.
What is the booking fee?
When a client books online, a small £1.49 fee applies · the same way a booking fee works on any reservation platform. It's shown to the client at the time of booking and is non-refundable if the client cancels. It does not come out of your service revenue.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial, no credit card required. You can set up your booking page, add your services and test the full calendar before deciding.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans, no contract, cancel from your dashboard.
