Booking and paying take care of themselves
Members book and buy their next pack on their own phone, whenever it suits them.
Memberships are charged every month, members check in at the door with a QR code and your classes fill up. One overview shows you how the gym is doing.
Avana Studio is gym management software for gyms with group classes in the UK. It runs the class timetable, monthly memberships, class packs and personal training bookings; it does not control entry gates. Studio costs £17.99 a month, Studio Plus £35.99 and Studio Max £65.99, all VAT included, with 0% commission, no setup fee and a 7-day free trial.
Members take out a membership themselves and are charged on their card every month. If a payment fails, the member gets a new payment link and you can see what's still outstanding.
You add your rooms, and two classes can no longer land in the same one at once. When an instructor can't make it, one message asks the team for cover.
See which classes fill up, how many members joined and who hasn't been in for a while. On Studio Max you also see how long a member stays on average.
A tablet stands by the entrance.A member holds the QR code from their app up to it and is marked present for their class straight away. You and your instructors see who is in without a list at the desk.
Add your classes and memberships, then share the timetable with your members. From there, everyone books for themselves.

No. You pay Avana no commission, no booking fees and no setup fee. When a member pays online, a small booking fee is part of the price they see from the start: 3%, at least £1.49 and at most £2.29. Classes booked with a pack or membership cost the member nothing extra.
Yes. Avana runs month to month, with no annual contract and no exit fee. After you cancel, everything keeps working until the end of the period you've already paid for. You start with a 7-day free trial and only pay if you stay.
Avana imports your members and their remaining credit from a CSV or Excel export of your current system, and we help you for free. Each member gets a pack with the classes they had left and its expiry date, and carries on booking straight away.
You choose how many hours before class a member can cancel without losing it. Cancel in time and the class goes back on their pack, and the first person on the waitlist is offered the spot; if they don't take it, it moves on to the next. A late cancellation counts as used.
Yes, on Studio Plus or Studio Max gym members check in at the door with the QR code in their app, and are marked present for their class at once. Avana does not run entry gates, turnstiles or door access to the open gym floor; that stays with your own access system.
Yes, on Studio Plus you hold a few spots per group class for ClassPass and Wellhub members. Avana has no automatic link with those platforms, so you add their bookings by hand or import the platform's export. They count towards the class cap, and you tick them off at the class like anyone else.
Yes, on Studio Plus you add your rooms and locations. Each class sits in the right room, two classes can never share a room at the same time, and every email to members has the right address. Members can filter the timetable by location.

Avana is built for the group classes in your gym. Alongside the open gym floor you run spin, strength and conditioning, core or a Sunday morning class, each with an instructor and a room that only holds so many people. Gym class booking software has to let members book their own spot, give a full class a waitlist and tell your instructors who is coming. Avana handles that, plus the memberships behind it.
In Avana you set up each group class once, with a name, a length, a level, an instructor and a cap of up to 200 places. A class that runs weekly is on the timetable months ahead, and an extra class over the holidays or a workshop goes in separately. Each class has its own colour and icon, so the timetable reads at a glance.
Members book on your page or in the Avana app and cancel themselves within the window you set. When a class is full they join the waitlist, and when a place opens up, the first person on the list is offered it.
A member takes a membership for group classes that's charged to their card every month: unlimited, or a set number of classes. On Studio Plus you add rules, such as no more than three classes a week or off-peak hours only, set a minimum term or notice period, and pause a membership while someone is away.
If you use contracts, Studio Max attaches one to the membership, and the member reads and signs it at purchase. Anyone who only wants the odd class buys a pack with an expiry date you choose, and a newcomer can buy a trial class once.
Studio Plus lets you set up your rooms, such as a spin room and a group studio. You pick the room for each class, and two classes can't overlap in one room. With several locations they all sit on one timetable, and members choose their location above it.
Every instructor has their own login and sees their timetable and the booking list, without your figures. If someone can't teach, you ask colleagues for cover with one message. Avana counts the classes and hours each instructor taught, ready for the pay run you do yourself. An instructor can differ per slot, so Tuesday's class can have a different face from Saturday's.
Plenty of gyms take members through ClassPass or Wellhub. On Studio Plus you hold a few places per class for those platforms. There's no automatic connection: you add their bookings by hand or import the platform's export, and they count in your attendance like any other booking.
If an employer pays for their staff's classes, Studio Max lets you set up a corporate membership. The company gets one invoice each month, and the staff book as ordinary members.
Many members have trained on the gym floor for years and never tried a class. A trial class, once per member, lowers the bar. On Studio Plus you can also sell an intro offer, such as a few classes at a lower price, and hand out discount codes for a first-month promotion.
Every class shows a level, so a beginner knows where to start. The reminder the day before says what to bring, like a towel or clean trainers. A gift card for a pack of classes can be sold on your own page with Studio Plus.
On Studio Plus a new member gets a welcome after their first class, and anyone who stays away for a few weeks is invited back to book. A refer-a-friend scheme gives members their own link: the friend gets a discount and your member gets classes in credit.
Insights shows each month which classes fill, how many trial classes turn into members and where another class would work. Studio Max adds how long members stay and which hours are busiest.
When you compare, look at commission, the contract and how simple booking is for a member. Avana charges no commission, runs month to month, and members book without a password. Studio, Studio Plus and Studio Max are priced on this page. We move your members and their credit across for free, including from Mindbody and TeamUp.
Avana doesn't manage entry gates or door access to the open gym. Members on Studio Plus or Studio Max do check in for classes at the door with the QR code in their app, so you see who attended each class. Running HYROX sessions or personal training too? Plan them on the same timetable as your classes. For other kinds of studio, see studio software.
Good class booking software lets members reserve their own spot, keeps to a cap per room and fills a cancellation from the waitlist. Avana does that without commission, with memberships charged by card, and rooms and locations on Studio Plus.
In Avana you choose how many hours before class a member can cancel for free. A freed spot goes to the first person on the waitlist, and a late cancellation or no-show loses the class. On Studio Plus you can see how often each member stayed away.
Each instructor in Avana has their own login and timetable. If someone can't teach, one message goes to colleagues and whoever is free first takes the class. Per instructor you see how many classes and hours they taught.
