Avana is studio software where an employer pays for their staff's memberships and receives one invoice from you every month. More and more businesses want to support the health of their people, and a yoga, Pilates or bootcamp studio round the corner is a natural place for it. For you, a company means a group of members in one go, with income arriving every month. The fiddly part is usually the admin: who belongs to which company, and what should go on this month's invoice?
What is a corporate membership at a studio?
With a corporate membership, an employer pays for an employee's membership. The employee trains with you as an ordinary member, with a spot on your schedule and the same cancellation rules. The difference is who pays: the company, with one invoice covering all its people.
That's different from a platform like ClassPass or Wellhub, where a member arrives through a third party and you're paid per visit. With a corporate membership you agree the deal directly with the company, at your own price. Read how studio memberships work as well.
How to find companies willing to pay
Start close to home. Look at which members already work for a larger employer nearby, and ask whether that employer does anything for staff wellbeing. An enthusiastic member often opens the door to HR. Offices, clinics and schools on your street are a sensible place to begin too.
Make it easy for a company: one membership per employee, one invoice per month, and they can stop at the end of any month. A trial class for the whole team helps get the first employees through the door. See how a trial class and intro offer work.
What to agree with an employer
Agree upfront which membership each employee gets, unlimited or a set number of classes a month, and what it costs per month. Settle how invoicing works: monthly in arrears, a line per employee, payable within a fixed term. Ask whether the company needs a purchase order number or reference on the invoice, because many accounts teams won't pay without one.
Also agree what happens when someone joins or leaves. The simplest rule: anyone linked during a month counts for that whole month, and leaving takes effect at the end of the month. Then the invoice is always right and you never have to work out a refund.
What the employer needs from you
Most companies have their own way of handling a perk like this, and that's between them and their accountant. You don't need to arrange anything on that side. What they need from you is a tidy invoice with your details, the period it covers and, for each employee, the membership.
Avana takes care of that. Each invoice has its own number, a line per member and the company's reference, and goes to the email address they gave you for invoices.
Corporate memberships by type of studio
A yoga studio or Pilates studio suits offices well: calm classes before or after work, for stress and stiff backs. A bootcamp or gym attracts teams that want to train together. For a physio clinic with group classes it's more often about recovery and a healthy posture at work.
It works the same everywhere: the company pays, the employee books, and you see per company who is training.
What to look for in a system for corporate members
A corporate member should feel like any other member. They book themselves, see the membership in the app and get the same confirmations. Behind the scenes, the system has to know which member belongs to which company and turn that into an invoice every month.
Watch what happens when your prices change. In Avana the price per employee is fixed when you link them, so a company never gets an unexpectedly higher invoice. And a member can never belong to two companies at once, so nothing is billed twice.
What Avana does for you
In Avana you add the company on the Corporate tab and link the employees to a membership. On the first of the month one invoice per company goes to its accounts team with the PDF, and the invoice also sits with your other invoices. When the money arrives, you mark it as paid. Corporate memberships are part of Studio Max. See the prices on this page, or try it free for 7 days first.
