Appointment cancellation policy
How canceling or rescheduling an appointment works when you book with a salon through Avana, and how salons set their own policy.
1. Canceling or rescheduling
Booked with a salon through Avana and need to make a change? Open the link in your confirmation email. It takes you to your appointment, where you can reschedule or cancel within the salon's rules.
2. The salon's cancellation window
Each salon sets how much notice it needs, often 24 or 48 hours before the appointment. You see it before you book, in your confirmation email and when you manage your appointment. Within that window, canceling or rescheduling is free.
3. Late cancellations and no-shows
If you cancel after the window has closed, or do not show up without canceling, the salon may keep your deposit or charge a fee under the policy it showed you before you booked. The salon sets the amount. Avana does not decide whether a charge is fair and does not collect it for the salon.
4. Deposits and refunds
If you paid online and cancel within the window, the amount you paid for the appointment is refunded automatically to your original payment method. The service fee you paid Avana for booking and paying online is not refunded. Outside the window, the salon's policy applies. If the salon cancels on you, contact the salon about a refund or a new time.
5. For salons: setting your own policy
You set your cancellation policy in your Avana dashboard: how far in advance clients can cancel or reschedule for free, and whether you ask for a deposit. Avana shows your policy to clients before they book. Keep any late-cancellation or no-show charge reasonable and in line with your state's law; see our terms.
6. Questions about a specific appointment
Contact the salon you booked with; their details are in your confirmation email. If that does not work, reach us through our contact page.
