If someone works with you, they stay bookable
Your private event only closes your own hours. A client with no preference can still book your colleague at that time.

Avana adds every salon appointment to your own Google Calendar within a minute, and anything private you put there, like the school run, keeps that time closed to clients. The connection is in every Avana plan and takes one sign-in.

From a booking in your DMs to the school pick-up. Each moment shows which part of Avana is doing the work.
Avana Connect replies with your free times and Lisa books there and then. A minute later the appointment is in your Google Calendar with the name, service and phone number.
Avana ConnectFour clients, the school run and the gym all in the same view. You don't even need to open Avana.
Calendar and planningIn the Avana app, last time's color formula is on the client record, together with notes from earlier visits.
Client recordsYou add "pick up the kids" at 15:00 in Google Calendar. Shortly after, 15:00 is closed on your booking page, in the widget on your site and in your DMs.
Online booking pageIf you let clients reschedule themselves, it goes through the link in their confirmation. Mark chooses from the times still open, and 15:00 isn't one of them.
Rescheduling and cancellation rulesHis appointment moves in your Google Calendar by itself. Nothing to copy, nobody to message back.
Tomorrow's clients get a reminder with your address automatically. In Google, Friday is already there between your own plans.
Email remindersAll your channels run on the same calendar, so whatever you put in Google applies everywhere at once.
You can always add a client yourself, even at a time that's busy in Google. The connection only stops online bookings.
You connect Google Calendar once in Avana's settings, on your phone or laptop. After that there's nothing to look after.
A separate calendar called Avana appears in your Google Calendar, with each client's name and service. One tick shows or hides it.
Add something to your own Google Calendar and clients can't book that time online. They just see it isn't available.
Tap continue with Google, sign in and give permission. From then on Avana keeps it up to date, even if you don't look for a week.
Avana's calendar link shows your appointments in the calendar you already use, such as iPhone or Outlook. Add it once and it refreshes itself.
The calendar link is for viewing: the client's name, the service and the team member, without phone numbers or email addresses. Events you add in your iPhone calendar or Outlook don't close your booking page; the Google Calendar connection does that, and it works in the Google Calendar app on an iPhone too.
Facials and treatment courses, each with the right length, booked straight into your calendar.
Gel polish, new sets and maintenance, with a deposit that keeps the chair from sitting empty.
Clients pick their own stylist and book themselves, evenings included.
Full sets and maintenance appointments, in a calendar that never double-books.
A calm calendar with reminders, so clients arrive on time.
Keeping your salon calendar and Google Calendar separately, compared with having them linked.
| Two separate calendars | With the connection | |
|---|---|---|
| A new booking | Typed into Google by you | There within a minute |
| A moved appointment | Changed in two places | Moved once in Avana |
| A cancellation | Deleted by you, if you remember | Disappears from Google on its own |
| Something private | Blocked again in your booking system | Closed to clients automatically |
| A booking in your DMs | Check your calendar, then reply | Connect already knows your free times |
| Seeing your day | Two apps open | One look at Google Calendar |
Three parts of Avana that benefit straight away.
Your private event only closes your own hours. A client with no preference can still book your colleague at that time.
One-off private events go in Google. A holiday or a regular day off goes in Avana, so clients never see those days as free.
You see the appointment in Google Calendar, and Avana sends the client a reminder the day before with your address.
Every plan includes sales tax, takes no commission on your bookings and can be canceled any month. Try Avana free for 7 days, no card needed.

On the same bill as your plan, and you can stop any month.
Link your Instagram once. From then on, an assistant answers client messages with your own prices and free times, and clients can book right there in the chat.
Sell your own course to people who want to learn your craft. You record the lessons once, the practical day sits in your calendar and certificates go out on their own.
Someone joins you on Tuesdays and Saturdays? Add them with their own hours and their own column in the calendar, and clients can book with them by name.
Yes. In Avana you choose to continue with Google, sign in once and give permission. Your appointments then appear in a separate calendar called Avana in Google Calendar, and new, moved or canceled appointments are usually updated within a minute. You move and cancel in Avana; Google follows.
No, Avana keeps private Google events closed to clients. If there's an event in your own Google Calendar, that time can't be booked: not on your booking page, not in the widget on your site and not through your DMs. Clients only see that the time isn't free, and you can switch this off with one setting if you don't want it.
Yes, you can still book a client yourself in Avana. The connection only stops online bookings. If you add a client to your Avana calendar yourself, for example because your private plans fell through, that works as normal.
No. Avana only sees when you're busy, never what the event is or who it's with. It can't change your own calendars either: Avana only writes in the Avana calendar it creates itself.
Avana sends the client's name, the service, the team member and their phone number. Email addresses and your notes stay in Avana and aren't sent to Google.
Yes. In Avana you choose whose appointments go into your Google Calendar: just yours, one team member's or the whole salon's. A private event in your Google Calendar only closes your own hours, so a colleague stays bookable. See multiple staff.
Yes, with a calendar link. You create it in Avana's integration settings and paste it into Outlook when adding a calendar. Your appointments then show in Outlook, which refreshes them a few times a day; events you add in Outlook don't close your booking page, which only works with Google Calendar.
Yes. With the calendar link your appointments appear in the Calendar app on your iPhone and Mac: tap the link once and subscribe. If you also want private events to close your booking page, use Google Calendar, which works in the Google Calendar app on an iPhone too.
Yes, the connection and the calendar link are in every plan, starting at $20.99 a month, tax included, and during your free 7-day trial. The pricing page compares the plans.
When a client pays online, a small service fee is part of the price they see from the very first screen: 3% of the booking, at least $1.99 and at most $2.79. You pay nothing on your takings, because Avana charges no commission. That small amount from the client is what lets us pay you out in full, so the whole treatment price stays with you.

Avana is a salon booking system that puts your appointments into your own Google Calendar automatically. You connect Google Calendar once, and every new, moved or canceled appointment appears within a minute in a separate calendar called Avana, with the client's name and service. If there's something private in your own Google Calendar, clients can't book that time on your booking page, in the widget on your site or in your Instagram DMs. Avana only sees when you're busy, never what the event is. If you use your iPhone, Mac or Outlook calendar, you can add your appointments there with a calendar link. The connection is in every plan. For a solo salon, Avana Business costs $20.99 a month, tax included, which is $0.69 a day.
Plenty of salon owners run their life from Google Calendar: the kids, the gym, dinner with friends. If you also use an online salon calendar, that's two places to keep up to date, and sooner or later they drift apart. With Avana's Google Calendar connection, your clients simply sit between your own plans and nothing needs typing twice.
It works the other way too, and that's what makes the difference. Your booking page, the widget on your site, the QR code at your desk and the DMs that Avana Connect answers all run on the same calendar. Put something private in Google and that time closes in all those places at once, while Avana only sees that you're busy.
If you use an iPhone, Mac or Outlook calendar instead, add your appointments there with a calendar link. Your regular hours, breaks and holidays are set in your availability. Other connections are listed under integrations, and prices on the pricing page.
It puts your salon appointments and your own plans in one calendar without any retyping, and it works both ways: clients go into Google, and whatever you put in Google keeps that time closed to online bookings. That solves the familiar problem of two calendars drifting apart until a client books the hour you were meant to collect the kids.
It's built for the independent salon owner who already lives in Google Calendar: the hairdresser with children, the nail tech with a second job, the mobile massage therapist. A separate calendar called Avana appears in your Google Calendar with each client's name, service, team member and phone number, and changes appear within a minute. From your own calendar, Avana only sees when you're busy.
Only events in your main Google calendar, the one with your own name, and only when they're marked as busy. That's the trap most salons fall into: something is in Google, yet someone still books.
Watch for four things. A shared calendar, such as a family calendar or your partner's, doesn't count. An all-day event is usually marked as free in Google, so set it to busy if you want the day closed. Google events only count within your opening hours, in fifteen-minute steps. And a new event counts within two minutes. If it isn't working, check in Avana's integration settings that busy time in Google is set to close your Avana calendar.
If you want clients to book online, you need a booking system; Google Calendar on its own isn't enough. Google Calendar is good at showing what's planned, but clients can't choose a service and time in it, and it doesn't send them a reminder with your address.
With Avana you keep both. Clients book on your booking page, get the confirmation and reminder automatically, and pay a deposit for long services. The appointment then sits in your Google Calendar between your own plans, so one look over breakfast tells you how your day looks.
First check the status in Avana's integration settings: active, not connected or disconnected. If it's disconnected, continue with Google again and sign in with the same Google account. That usually happens when your Google password changed or permission was withdrawn.
If a single appointment is missing, wait a minute or tap to update now. If you can't see the Avana calendar on your phone, open Google Calendar's menu and switch Avana on. And never move an appointment in Google itself, because Avana will put it back; move it in Avana, and Google follows while the client gets a message too.
