Your salon booking page on your own domain

With Avana, clients book under your own name: on your own booking page from day one, on your own website with the widget, and on your own domain name with Business Max. Every booking lands in the same calendar, with no commission.

Three ways

How do clients book under your name?

Pick what suits your salon. The first is there straight away, the second is in every plan, the third comes with Business Max.

All three run on the same calendar. Wherever clients book, the appointment is in one place and nobody can book a slot that's already gone.

How your own address works

From your first link to your own web address

Avana gives you a booking page straight away; your website and your own domain are steps you add when your salon needs them.

Questions

Booking on your own domain with Avana

Do I need my own domain to use Avana?

No, a domain is optional. Avana gives you your own booking page straight away, in your salon's name and town, to share in your bio, your messages and your Google Business Profile. A domain name of your own is something you can add later with Business Max.

Can clients book on my own salon website?

Yes, in every Avana plan. With the booking widget you paste one snippet from Avana onto your site, and clients pick a service and time there. The appointment goes into your Avana calendar with the confirmation and reminder.

Which Avana plan includes a custom domain?

Your booking page on your own domain name comes with Business Max, while booking on your own website with the widget is in every plan. The pricing page shows what each plan contains.

What's the difference between a booking widget and a custom domain?

Avana's widget puts booking on a website you already have. With a custom domain, your whole booking page sits on your own web address. If you already have a site, the widget is usually all you need.

Do I need to set anything up for a custom domain?

Yes, a custom domain needs one setting. With whoever your domain is registered with, you add a setting that points to Avana. If you get stuck, contact us and we'll help; some providers work differently, so we can't promise it works with every setup.

Do my calendar and reminders keep working on my own domain?

Yes. Wherever clients book with Avana, the appointment lands in the same calendar. The confirmation and reminder go out automatically, and deposits are paid in the same step.

Do I pay commission when clients book on my own domain?

No. Avana takes 0% commission wherever clients book: on your page, on your own website or on your own domain name. You only pay your fixed monthly plan.

Is there a service fee, and who pays it?

When a client pays online, a small service fee is part of the price they see from the very first screen: 3% of the booking, at least $1.99 and at most $2.79. You pay nothing on your takings, because Avana charges no commission. That small amount from the client is what lets us pay you out in full, so the whole treatment price stays with you.

The short answer

How do clients book on your own domain?

Avana is a booking system where clients book under your own name. Every salon gets its own booking page straight away, in the salon's name and town, with its services, prices and free times. If you have a website, the booking widget adds booking to it in every plan, so clients pick a time on your own site. With Avana Business Max, your booking page can also sit on your own domain name, which takes one setting with whoever your domain is registered with. Wherever clients book, the appointment lands in the same calendar with the confirmation and reminder, and Avana takes no commission. If your page and the widget are enough, Avana Business costs $20.99 a month, tax included, which is $0.69 a day.

Booking under your own name

A custom domain for your salon, and what you really need

A custom domain is your own address on the internet, like studiomila.com. For a salon it's less about technology and more about trust: clients want to see they're booking with you, not on a platform with ten other salons listed alongside. With Avana you have that from the first day, because you immediately get a booking page in your salon's name and town, with your own photos, services and prices.

If you already have a website, the booking widget is often the best next step. Paste one snippet onto your site and clients pick a service and time there without leaving it, in every plan. People at your desk book again with the QR code, and people who find you on Instagram book your DMs with Avana Connect. It all lands in the same calendar.

If you're building a brand, perhaps with more than one location, Business Max puts your booking page on your own domain name. Reminders, deposits and reviews then work exactly as on your normal page. Each plan's price is on the pricing page.

Does a small salon need its own domain for booking?

For most solo salons it isn't the first step. Clients want to find a time quickly and see it's with you. Your own booking page in Avana, with your type of salon, your town and your name in the address, already does that: put the link in your Instagram bio, your messages and your Google Business Profile, and clients only see your services and free times. A nail tech working from home or a barber with one chair can go a long way with that.

A domain name of your own becomes worthwhile when you're building a brand that needs to stand apart from you personally: a second location, a growing team, or a name on your sign and business cards. Then you want one address you can mention everywhere. Until then, your booking page is enough, and if you already have a website, the widget adds booking to it.

Booking button on your website or a separate booking page: which is better?

Both, for different clients. A button on your website suits people who find you through a search and want to read who you are, what you charge and what your salon looks like first. With booking on the same page, they finish without clicking away to another site, and every extra step costs bookings, especially on a phone.

A separate booking page suits people who already know you. A regular tapping your Instagram bio on a Sunday evening wants to pick a time, not read a website. So it's smart to use both: the page in your bio and messages, booking on your website for new clients. In Avana they share one calendar, so a slot booked one way is closed the other way straight away.

What do you need to sort out for a custom domain?

A domain name that belongs to you, and access to the company it's registered with. That's usually whoever you used for your website or email address. Many salons use a separate part of their address for booking, starting with a word like book, so the rest of their website stays exactly where it is.

In Avana a custom domain for your booking page comes with Business Max. You add the settings that point to Avana with your domain provider, and from then on your booking page sits at that address with the same services, times, reminders and deposits as always. If you're not sure you can do it yourself, ask your web designer or your domain provider; it's a one-off job.
