Quiet hours

Fill your quieter classes with new faces

An empty spot earns nothing. Open a few spots for ClassPass or Wellhub in your quieter classes, and platform users fill them while the platform pays you per visit.

  • Choose how many spots per class
  • Only in the classes you pick
  • New people get to know your studio

Never overbooked

Members and platforms together never exceed your cap

A platform booking counts towards the class just like a booking from one of your members. A platform never gets more spots than are free, so the class never gets fuller than you want.

  • One count for the whole class
  • Platforms never get more than what's free
  • Your waitlist keeps working as normal
Who gets priority

You choose who comes first

By default your own members come first. A member can book any free spot, and the room left for platforms shrinks accordingly. Prefer to hold the platform spots? Then they stay closed to members until a time before class that you set.

  • Members first, unless you choose otherwise
  • Or hold the platform spots back
  • Unused spots open up at a time you pick
In class

You see at a glance who came through a platform

On the class list, every platform visitor has a label with the platform's name. You tick off who turned up, just as you do for your members, and your member list stays your own.

  • The platform shows next to the name
  • Tick off who was there
  • Platform visitors stay off your member list

What it brings in

See what each platform brings you, month by month

Insights shows how many visits came in through each platform each month, and how many of those visitors actually turned up. That tells you whether the spots you open are worth it.

  • Visits per platform, per month
  • How many visitors actually came
  • Open more or fewer spots based on what you see
Step by step

Fitness platform questions

What studio owners ask about ClassPass and Wellhub

Does Avana integrate with ClassPass or Wellhub?

There's no automatic integration yet. No live connection exists between Avana and ClassPass or Wellhub, and we've asked the platforms for access. Until then, you hold spots per class for each platform in Avana and add their bookings to the class yourself, by hand or by importing the platform's CSV export.

Which platforms can I hold spots for?

ClassPass and Wellhub, which used to be called Gympass, plus Urban Sports Club for studios that also work with it. You switch each platform on or off separately and choose per class how many spots it gets.

Do platform bookings count towards my class capacity?

Yes. A booking through ClassPass or Wellhub counts towards the class just like a booking from your own member. A platform never gets more spots than are free, so the class never goes over the number of spots you set.

How do I stop platforms filling my most popular classes?

You choose per class how many spots platforms may use, or switch platforms off on a class altogether. By default your own members come first: a member can book any free spot, and whatever is left for platforms gets smaller.

How do I get ClassPass or Wellhub bookings into Avana?

On the class, you add a platform booking with the visitor's name and the platform's booking reference. Or you import the platform's CSV export: Avana matches each booking to a class by date and time and shows you a preview first. Thanks to the booking reference, the same booking never goes in twice.

Do platform visitors end up on my member list?

No. A platform visitor doesn't join your member list, gets no credit and pays nothing through Avana. You do see them on the class with the platform's name next to theirs, and you tick off whether they came.

Which Avana plan includes platform spots?

Spots for ClassPass and Wellhub are part of Studio Plus and Studio Max. Those plans also include check-in, rooms and monthly insights. You can set up a few classes with platform spots during the free week and see how it fits.

More about fitness platforms

Combining ClassPass and Wellhub with your own schedule

Avana is studio booking software where you hold spots in each class for ClassPass and Wellhub, alongside your own members on one schedule. Plenty of studios work with one or more fitness platforms. They bring in new people, but without a clear view it soon turns into a puzzle: how many spots are still open on the platform, who is coming through which platform, and is the class suddenly overbooked? Studios that can answer those questions on one schedule get the most out of a platform.

How ClassPass and Wellhub work for a studio

A fitness platform sells a membership that lets people train at lots of different studios and gyms. ClassPass members buy credits and spend them at studios near them. Wellhub, previously Gympass, usually comes through an employer as a staff benefit. As a studio you become a partner: you sign an agreement, choose which classes to offer, and the platform pays you per visit.

How much you get per visit and what rules apply to cancellations and no-shows is agreed with the platform itself. Read those terms carefully, because they vary by platform and sometimes by city. After that, the question is practical: how do you keep track of who is coming through a platform, next to your own members?

What a platform brings, and what to watch

The biggest benefit is reach. People who don't know your studio yet try a class and fill spots that would otherwise stay empty. Especially in quiet hours, early morning or the middle of the day, that can be the difference between a half-empty class and a full one.

Keep an eye on your regulars, though. If your most popular evening class fills up with platform visitors, a regular member misses out, and that doesn't feel right. That's why most studios open a few spots in selected classes only and keep the busiest ones for members. The platform then adds to your studio, and your own members stay the foundation.

How many spots to open

Start small. One or two spots per class is enough to see how it goes. After a month, look at which classes draw platform visitors and whether those visitors actually show up. If a quiet class picks up, add a spot there. If your own members start missing out, take one away.

In Avana you set a default number of spots for the whole studio and adjust it per class or per date. Each platform can be switched on or off, so ClassPass in your morning classes and Wellhub only at weekends works too. Set the same number of spots on the platform itself, so the figures match everywhere.

Platforms and your members on one schedule

In Avana a platform booking is a spot in your class, just like a booking from your own member. It counts towards the class total, and a platform never gets more spots than are free. By default your own members come first: a member can book any free spot, including one you'd meant for platforms. If you'd rather not allow that, hold the platform spots until a time before class that you choose, after which unused spots open up for members.

On the class list, each platform visitor carries the platform's name, and you tick off who was there. Platform visitors don't join your member list and get no emails from your studio, because that relationship sits with the platform. Your online class schedule, your cancellation window and waitlist and your own members carry on as normal.

No automatic connection: adding or importing bookings

The big platforms work with a fixed list of booking systems that have an automatic connection. Avana isn't on those lists yet, and we've asked ClassPass and Wellhub for access. Until that happens, bookings won't appear on your schedule by themselves, and we'd rather tell you that plainly.

What you can do: add a booking to the class with the visitor's name and the platform's booking reference. Or download the export from the platform and import the CSV into Avana. Avana recognizes the columns, matches each booking to a class by date and time, and shows you what's coming in first. Because of the booking reference, a booking never goes in twice, even if you import the same file again later.

From platform visitor to member

A visitor who keeps coming back starts to feel at home at your studio. A class pack or membership of your own can then be the natural next step, as can an intro offer for people who are new. Check what your agreement with the platform says about approaching their users, and keep it personal: a good chat after class often works better than a flyer.

Examples by type of studio

A reformer studio often opens a spot only in early and midday classes, because the machines are full in the evening anyway. A yoga studio with bigger groups can be more generous, and a gym with lots of group classes uses platforms to make new classes known. At a HYROX gym, a few spots fill sessions on quieter days. Platform spots are part of Studio Plus and Studio Max, with no commission; you'll find the plans in the pricing above.

What studio owners search for about fitness platforms

Does ClassPass work with my booking software?

ClassPass works with a fixed list of booking systems that have an automatic connection. Avana isn't one of them yet, and we've asked for access. In the meantime you hold spots per class for ClassPass in Avana and add the bookings to the class by hand or from the CSV export.

Is joining ClassPass or Wellhub a good idea for my studio?

That depends on your schedule. A platform brings new people and fills quiet hours, and what you earn per visit is agreed with the platform. With Avana you open a few spots only in the classes you choose, and on Studio Plus you see each month what it brings in.

Can I hold platform spots until just before class?

Yes. In Avana you choose whether your own members come first or the platform spots stay closed to members until a time you set, such as two hours before class. After that, unused spots open up for your members. That's part of Studio Plus and Studio Max.

How can I see how many people reach my studio through a platform?

In Avana each class shows who came through a platform, with the platform's name next to them. Insights shows, per month, how many visits came through ClassPass and Wellhub and how many of those visitors actually turned up.
