Shop questions

What studio owners ask about running a shop

Can I sell products from my yoga or Pilates studio with Avana?

Yes, Avana gives you a shop on your studio page, with a photo, a price and optional sizes or colors for each product. Members order online and collect at the studio, or you deliver it to them. The shop is part of Studio Plus and Studio Max.

How do members collect an order from my studio?

When ordering, the member chooses to collect at the studio, so there's no address and no shipping to pay. Once it's ready, one button sends them an email, and when they pick it up you mark the order as Collected. Members can follow the status in their own account.

Do members have to pay online for shop products?

You decide: online only, at the studio only, or the member chooses. If they pay at the studio, you mark the order as paid when they collect it, in cash or by card. An order for delivery is always paid online.

Can I use a promo code in my studio shop?

Yes, a promo code can apply to your shop, as a percentage or a fixed amount. The discount covers the products and never the shipping. If a product also has a multi-buy deal, only the better of the two counts.

Can I sell digital products in the Avana shop?

Yes, alongside physical products you can sell something digital, such as a training plan or a recipe booklet. After paying, the member gets an email with a link to download the file, so there's nothing to collect or deliver.

Do I pay commission on products I sell through Avana?

No, you pay Avana no commission on anything you sell in your shop. The shop comes with Studio Plus and Studio Max for one fixed monthly price. For an order paid online, a small booking fee is part of the price members see from the start: 3%, at least $1.99 and at most $2.79. Paid at the studio, there's nothing extra.

More about your studio shop

Looking for an online shop for your studio?

Avana is studio booking software with its own shop, where members order products and pick them up at their next class. Nearly every studio sells something beside its classes: grip socks, a towel, a water bottle, a mat for home. Usually that comes out of a box behind the desk, with a list and a tin of change. A shop that's part of your schedule and member list turns that into a steady source of income, with no extra work at the desk.

Why a shop pays off for a studio

Your class income has a ceiling: your room holds so many people and your day has so many hours. What you sell beside your classes doesn't have that limit. A member who comes every week needs socks, wants their own mat for home or likes wearing something with your logo. If they buy it from you, that money stays in your studio.

It helps your brand too. A tote or a bottle with your logo goes to the office, the gym and the school gate. People see your name, and sooner or later someone asks where that bag came from.

Which products suit which studio

Start with what members need every class. In a reformer studio and at barre that's grip socks, because many studios ask for grip on the machine and at the barre. A yoga studio does well with mats, blocks and straps, and a house herbal tea fits nicely.

At a bootcamp or a HYROX gym, water bottles, resistance bands and T-shirts move fastest. In a boxing gym, hand wraps and gloves are a staple, especially for new members. A dance studio sells show T-shirts or kit for a new term. Something digital, such as a training plan, works anywhere.

Collect, deliver or download

For a studio, collecting is the obvious choice. Members are coming in anyway, nothing needs packing and there are no delivery costs. In Avana, collection at the studio is the default. When it's ready, one button emails the member, and on pickup you mark the order as Collected.

If you'd like to sell to people who don't live round the corner, switch on delivery, with your own shipping charge. Something digital goes out by email as a download after payment. Collection and delivery never share an order, so you always know what needs to happen with each one.

Prices, stock and promotions

When you set a price, count what it costs to store and reorder a product, as well as what you paid for it. Small items like socks often sell in pairs, and a multi-buy deal makes that easy. Show a sale price next to the usual one, and a shop code gives new members a welcome gift.

Start small, with three or four products you're sure will sell, and add more once you see what moves. When something runs out it shows as sold out and nobody can order it. That saves disappointed members and awkward chats at the desk.

Payments and your records

You choose how members pay: online only, at the studio only, or the member decides. Online, the money lands in your own account straight away. Paid at the studio, you mark the order as paid when it's collected, in cash or by card.

Every paid order sits in your payments in Avana with an invoice, and counts in your revenue alongside your packs and memberships. When a member buys something, the order links through to them in your member management.

How to get your shop going

Begin with the products members already ask you for. Take a good photo of each one in daylight, write one or two lines about what it's for and add the sizes or colors. Then choose how members pay, and whether you'll deliver orders as well as letting people collect.

Tell members where you already reach them: at the desk, in your newsletter and in an Instagram post. A code for the first order helps people discover the shop. After a month, look at what sold and add what members have asked for.

What Avana does for you

Avana puts your shop on your studio page, next to your schedule and your packs. Members order and pay on their own, you set it aside and the sales show up in your revenue. Pair your shop with gift cards and promo codes to sell even more beside your classes. The shop is in Studio Plus and Studio Max. See everything on the studio software page, or check the prices on this page.

What studio owners search for about a studio shop

How do I sell products in my yoga or Pilates studio?

The easiest way is a shop that's part of your booking system: members buy online and collect at their next class. In Avana you add products with a photo and a price to your studio page, and every sale lands in your payments. It's in Studio Plus, and you can try it free for 7 days.

What products can a fitness studio sell?

Whatever members need every class sells best: grip socks, a towel, a water bottle or a mat for home. After that comes kit with your logo, and something digital such as a training plan. In Avana all of it goes in your own shop, with sizes, colors and a sale price.

Do I need a separate online shop next to my booking software?

No, if your booking software has a shop, everything is in one place: your members, their classes and everything they've bought. In Avana the shop is part of your studio page and sales sit next to your class income. A separate shop usually means a second subscription and a second set of records.

Can members collect an order at the studio instead of having it delivered?

Yes, in Avana a member can choose to collect at the studio, with no address and no shipping cost. You set it aside, send an email with one button and mark it as Collected on pickup. If you do want to deliver orders, switch that on with your own shipping charge.
