Appointment cancellation policy
How cancelling or changing an appointment works when you book with a salon through Avana, and how salons set their own policy.
1. Cancelling or changing your appointment
Booked with a salon through Avana and need to change or cancel? Use the link in the confirmation email you received after booking. It opens your appointment, where you can move or cancel it within the salon's rules.
2. How much notice you need to give
Each salon sets its own cancellation window, for example 24 or 48 hours before the appointment. You see it before you book, in your confirmation email and on the page where you manage your appointment. Within that window you can cancel or move free of charge.
3. Cancelling late
If you cancel after the salon's free cancellation window has passed, the salon may keep your deposit or charge a fee, as set out in its policy. The salon decides the amount, and it must be shown to you before you book.
4. If you do not turn up
If you miss your appointment without cancelling, the salon may mark it as a no-show and keep your deposit or charge a fee under its policy. Avana does not decide whether a no-show charge is fair and does not collect it for the salon.
5. Deposits and refunds
If you paid online and cancel within the free window, the amount you paid for the appointment goes back to your original payment method automatically. The service fee you paid to Avana for booking and paying online is not refunded. Outside the window, the salon's policy applies.
If the salon cancels your appointment, contact the salon about a refund or a new time. Your statutory rights as a consumer against the salon are not affected by this policy.
6. For salons: setting your own policy
You set your cancellation policy in your Avana dashboard: how far in advance clients can cancel or move free of charge, and whether you ask for a deposit. Avana shows your policy to clients before they book. Keep any late-cancellation or no-show charge in proportion to what you actually lose; see our terms.
7. Questions about a specific appointment
For questions about a specific appointment, such as the amount of a cancellation fee, contact the salon you booked with. Their details are in your confirmation email. If that does not work, get in touch with us through our contact page.
