Avana creates a VAT invoice automatically after every completed appointment, with the right VAT on each line and the next number in your sequence. Invoices are in every Avana plan, and at the end of the month you hand your accountant one download.

Typing up invoices after a long day is the job nobody wants. Avana does it the moment an appointment ends.
No Sunday with a pile of receipts and a calculator. The invoice appears by itself within an hour of the appointment ending.
Every line carries the right VAT rate and the monthly summary adds it up. Your accountant gets exactly what they need for your return.
Find an invoice from years back by the client's name or the invoice number, across every month at once.
Within an hour of an appointment ending, Avana prepares the invoice from what was booked, added and paid.
As soon as an appointment is over, Avana creates the invoice with every line on it: the service, any add-ons, products and the tax. If the client wants a copy, you send it in one tap.
Type the client's name or the invoice number and Avana searches every month at once. No folders sorted by year, no scrolling back through old emails.
Each month you download every invoice as a PDF, with a spreadsheet that adds up the VAT per rate. With Business Plus, your reports also show takings and VAT by week, month or year.
Automatic invoices are in every Avana plan; the last two parts below need Business Plus.
Everything paid for in your salon ends up in the same set of records.

What was paid in advance and what was paid at the salon both appear on the invoice. At the end of the month there's nothing to reconcile.
Something's wrong on an invoice. You issue a credit note, send the right version, and your numbering carries on as normal.

Yes, Avana creates one after every completed appointment. Within an hour of an appointment ending, a draft invoice appears with every line: the service, any add-ons, products and the tax. At the end of the day it becomes final and gets its number. Avana doesn't email it automatically; if the client wants it, you send it as a PDF in one tap.
Yes. Each line gets the rate that belongs to it, which can differ between a service and a product. Your monthly summary adds it up per rate, so your VAT return matches without you doing the sums.
Yes. You enter your business details once, and from then on your name, address and VAT number appear on every invoice. If you're not VAT registered, you simply leave the VAT number empty and set your rate to zero.
In Avana, type the client's name or the invoice number into the search bar. Avana searches across every month at once, so you don't need to remember when it was.
Yes, Avana corrects an invoice with a credit note. It reverses the original invoice, after which you send the correct version. Your numbering carries on and your figures are right again.
Yes. Choose the month in your invoices and tap download: you get one zip file with every invoice and credit note as a PDF, plus a spreadsheet with the VAT per rate. With Business Plus, your reports also give you takings and VAT for any week, month or year.
Yes, Avana tracks costs from Business Plus. You log an expense with the amount, the tax rate and a photo or PDF of the receipt, and Avana works out the tax. You see each month's takings, costs and what's left, and you can download the month's costs as a list. Cash taken from the drawer comes out of your cash book automatically.
Yes. Invoices and the monthly download are in every plan, starting at £15.99 a month, VAT included. To sell products as well, you need Business Plus. The pricing page shows what each plan includes.
When a client pays online, a small service fee is part of the price they see from the very first screen: 3% of the booking, at least £1.49 and at most £2.29. You pay nothing on your takings, because Avana charges no commission. That small amount from the client is what lets us pay you out in full, so the whole treatment price stays with you.

Avana is salon software that creates a VAT invoice automatically after every completed appointment, with the service, any add-ons and products, the right VAT on each line and the next number in your sequence. Your business details and VAT number appear on every invoice and clients can get a PDF copy in one tap. Each month you download every invoice plus a spreadsheet with the VAT per rate for your accountant. Invoices are included in every plan. For a solo salon, Avana Business costs £15.99 a month, VAT included, which is £0.53 a day.
Nobody became a hairdresser or beauty therapist to type up invoices. With automatic VAT invoices for your salon, it happens while you work: once an appointment is over, the invoice is there with the service, the add-ons, any products and the right VAT on each line.
The monthly download adds everything up per VAT rate in a spreadsheet, ready for your accountant. If a client paid a deposit up front and the rest at the salon, both amounts sit on the same invoice. And if something is wrong, a credit note fixes it while your numbering carries on.
If you want to look further than the paperwork, the reports in Business Plus show where your takings come from. The pricing page lays out which plan has what.
Automatic invoicing means an invoice is ready after every appointment without you typing anything. It suits any self-employed hairdresser, nail tech, beauty therapist, barber or massage therapist who keeps their own books. Individual clients rarely ask for one, but your accountant and HMRC do expect your takings to be complete, numbered in order and, if you're VAT registered, with the right VAT.
In Avana, within an hour of an appointment ending, a draft appears with the services, add-ons, products and tax. At the end of the day the draft becomes final with a number from your own sequence, such as 2026-0001. Anything you add to the appointment before then goes on the same invoice. Cancelled appointments don't get an invoice, and you can always create a one-off invoice yourself.
Start with your business details, because without them every invoice stays a draft. Open the invoice settings and fill in your business name, address and, if you're VAT registered, your VAT number, plus your logo, email address and phone number if you like. Anything missing is flagged so you can see what's left to do.
In the same settings you choose when an invoice becomes final: at the end of the day, which we recommend, or a fixed number of hours after the appointment. You can also write your own header, client note and footer, for example your payment terms. If you'd rather not have automatic invoices, switch them off and create them yourself.
Give each service and each product the right rate and Avana does the rest. You set one standard rate for your salon, and a service that doesn't fit can have its own rate. Services and products can therefore differ, and each line shows its own rate on the invoice. If you're unsure which rate applies, ask your accountant once and set it up accordingly.
A few things are taken care of for you. The service fee clients pay when paying online isn't on your invoice, because it isn't your salon's takings. If a client paid a deposit, that amount and the rest paid at the salon appear together. If you give a discount, the total and the VAT go down with it. Not VAT registered? Leave the VAT number empty and set your rate to zero.
You download a whole month at once. Open your invoices, choose the month and tap the download icon. You get one zip with every invoice and credit note as a PDF, plus a spreadsheet summary. Send that file on, or put it in the shared folder you already use.
With Business Plus you can also see takings and tax by week, month or year in your reports, and log your costs with the receipt attached, so you can see each month what's left over.
A draft you can simply edit; a final invoice you put right with a credit note. Choose to correct it and Avana creates a new version: the old invoice stays, is reversed, and the new one gets its own number. If the whole invoice shouldn't exist, you can credit it in full. Either way, your numbering has no gaps.
If you cancel a paid appointment that already had a final invoice, Avana creates the credit note for you. If a client wants an invoice in their company's name, you mark them as a business client and add the company name and address. Unpaid invoices are grouped together as outstanding, oldest first.
